Meet our Atlanta Therapists
Matthew Robb, MS, LPC, CCSP
Atlanta Clinic Director & Therapist | OCD, ERP, ADHD & Digital Health
Matthew Robb is a Licensed Professional Counselor and one of our primary providers for men’s therapy in Atlanta, with advanced specialization in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, phobias, ADHD, and problematic screen use.
OCD is a core specialty of Matthew’s work. He is highly trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for OCD and phobias. His ERP work is thoughtfully paced, grounded in strong safety planning, and tailored to each client’s nervous system and readiness. When clinically appropriate, Matthew is also willing to conduct in-home ERP sessions to support real-world exposure and lasting change.
Matthew holds advanced credentials in Digital Health and Wellness and works extensively with men who feel overwhelmed by compulsive screen use, digital burnout, or difficulty sustaining focus and motivation. His work with ADHD and neurodivergent clients emphasizes practical tools, self-trust, and sustainable routines—without shame or rigid expectations.
Parent Coaching & Family Systems
In addition to men’s therapy, Matthew is highly skilled in parent coaching and works with parents of children of any age. He supports parents who feel stuck or overwhelmed and want clear, usable strategies they can implement at home, particularly around:
Screen time management
Supporting children with ADHD or anxiety
Reducing family conflict and stress
Strengthening consistency and emotional regulation
Matthew integrates a family systems perspective into his work with men, recognizing that personal growth, parenting, and relational health are deeply connected.
Therapeutic Approaches Include:
CBT, ERP, ACT, IFS-informed work, Gestalt therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, digital health interventions, and family systems therapy.
Sundi Crosswhite Shelton, MSW, LMSW
Atlanta Therapist | Trauma, EMDR & Mind–Body Healing
Sundi Crosswhite Shelton is an empathetic and experienced psychotherapist who brings over eight years of clinical and social work experience to her work with men at Madrega Wellness Atlanta. She offers a calm, grounded space where men can explore anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions - without judgment, pressure, or the need to perform.
Sundi specializes in working with men who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or impacted by unresolved past experiences. Many of the men she works with have spent years pushing emotions aside in order to function. Her work supports men in safely reconnecting with their inner experience and developing emotional resilience from the inside out.
Her approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and deeply attuned to the nervous system. Sundi draws from a blend of evidence-based and holistic modalities, including:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Somatic and parts-based work
Mindfulness and body-based awareness practices
As a certified yoga instructor, Sundi weaves in mind–body practices that help men build awareness of physical sensations, regulate stress responses, and develop greater emotional presence. This integration is especially helpful for men who struggle to access emotions through talk therapy alone.
She brings a steady, compassionate presence and a deep belief in each client’s capacity to heal. Therapy with Sundi is not rushed - it is intentional, supportive, and focused on helping men feel more grounded, connected, and confident in their lives.

FAQs about men’s therapy
-
Men’s therapy isn’t a completely separate type of therapy, but it is often tailored to address the unique pressures, expectations, and experiences many men face. This can include difficulty expressing emotions, high levels of stress or responsibility, identity and role transitions, and cultural messages around masculinity that can make seeking support feel challenging.
In men’s therapy, therapists often focus on building trust, practical tools, emotional awareness, and deeper self-understanding at a pace that feels manageable. At Madrega Wellness, men’s therapy is individualized and grounded in evidence-based approaches, with the goal of helping men feel more connected, resilient, and able to navigate life with clarity.
-
There is no universal “better” option—it depends on the individual and what helps you feel safe, understood, and able to be open. Some men feel more comfortable working with a male therapist due to shared experiences or social expectations around masculinity, while others find it easier to open up with a female therapist or someone with a different perspective.
What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. Feeling respected, heard, and not judged is far more important than a therapist’s gender. At Madrega Wellness, our therapists are experienced in working with men’s mental health and are committed to creating a grounded, supportive environment so you can do meaningful work—regardless of who you choose to work with.
-
There isn’t one single type of therapy that works best for all men. Effective men’s therapy meets you where you are and takes into account how stress, emotions, relationships, and past experiences show up in your life. Many men benefit from a combination of evidence-based approaches—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, somatic and body-based therapy, and mindfulness-based practices—that support both practical tools and deeper emotional healing.
At Madrega Wellness, our therapists tailor therapy to each individual, offering a grounded, judgment-free space where men can work through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions while building skills that support real, lasting change.
-
For many, therapy is worth it because it provides a space to slow down, gain clarity, and work through challenges that can feel overwhelming to carry alone. Therapy isn’t about being “fixed” or told what to do—it’s about understanding patterns, building practical tools, and learning how to respond differently to stress, emotions, and relationships.
Men who engage in therapy often report feeling more grounded, more connected to themselves and others, and better equipped to handle anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. While therapy takes effort and commitment, the long-term benefits—improved mental health, stronger relationships, and a clearer sense of direction—can make it a meaningful investment in yourself.
-
There’s no set timeline for therapy, as it depends on your goals, the challenges you’re facing, and how consistently you attend sessions. Some men notice small but meaningful changes—such as improved awareness, stress reduction, or better coping skills—within the first few sessions. Deeper work around long-standing patterns, trauma, or relationship issues typically takes more time.
Therapy is a process, not a quick fix. Many men find that regular sessions over several months allow for more lasting change, helping them build tools, insight, and emotional resilience that continue well beyond therapy itself.
-
Many clients begin to notice subtle but meaningful changes over time. This can include feeling more grounded, having greater emotional awareness, and responding to stress or conflict with more clarity instead of reacting automatically. Men often report improved mood, better sleep, increased focus, and a stronger sense of connection in their relationships.
As therapy continues, clients may also notice changes in how they relate to themselves—less self-criticism, more confidence, and a clearer understanding of patterns that once felt stuck. Progress looks different for everyone, but the goal is lasting change that supports healthier relationships, emotional resilience, and a more balanced life.
